December 9th, 2012

I love taking my little brother's out. They're a real handful, but I've always loved looking after little kids. I was eight when Tony was born, so by the time I was ten, he was pretty easy to handle. When I was eleven, I had already gotten the hang of watching Tony when Owen was born, and I loved babysitting when my mom and step-dad went out.

Today I took the boys to the movies to see Rise of the Guardians. They loved it, but somehow they both ended up sitting on my lap when they got scared. Have you ever had two little boys scream and scramble onto your lap? It's really hard, trust me.

Either way, today I had a banana that weighed 2.9oz. I always measure everything by weight when I can, because that's the most accurate  That was 73 calories. I snacked on something called magic pop which brought my total to 132. When I took the boys to the movies, Owen kept giving me chocolate which I ate and brought my total to 182. I was pretty happy with this and I took the boys out for Pizza afterwards where I didn't eat anything.

I always take them out to dinner when I'm allowed because my parents think I eat, but I don't, and my brothers don't tell. Then Michael called (my step-dad) and told us mom made pasta and we should come home. Ugh, pasta. I hate pasta and I try not to eat it as much as possible, but Sunday dinners are family time. After saying grace, I was forced to scoff down pasta which brought me way up to 821 calories. Not the best I've ever done, but not the worst.

Tomorrow I think I'm going to fast. I might put it off until Tuesday because I know I'm fasting Wednesday, but we'll see. One tip I have for skipping dinner is keeping yourself out until after dinner. Don't go home and leave again right before dinner, but I stay at school until 6pm every night when they kick me out and by the time I get home, it's 7 and my dinner's waiting for me to scrape it into the bin.

Try to find a good excuse for staying late: homework, sports, a job. I babysit the lower schoolers after their afterschool programs until their parents come to pick them up. That keeps me at school until 6.
