Diets

So as most of you would know, there are a couple of diets out there that are pretty popular. I'll post all the ones I find, the ones people send me and a couple I've made my own. Anything with * at the end is a diet I made myself.

Rainbow Diet

Monday (white):        Tuesday (yellow):                                  Thursday (orange):
B: 1/2 an apple          B: 1 banana                                           B: 1/2 orange
L: 1/2 an apple          L: 1 banana            Wednesday: Fast     L: 1/2 orange
D: 1 cucumber          D: 1/2 cup corn                                      D: 1 carrot
Total: 105                 Total: 283                                              Total: 88

Friday (red):                      Saturday (blue/purple):       Sunday (green):
B: 1/2 cup strawberries     B: 10 blueberries                B: 1/2 cup grapes
L: 1/2 cup strawberries     L: 10 blueberries                 L: 1/2 cup grapes
D: 1/2 red pepper             D: 10 raspberries               D: 1 cup lettuce
Total: 59                           Total: 40                            Total: 121

So the rainbow diet is what you see above. Every day you have a new color which you then eat all day. The lowest calorie day is on Saturday for 40 calories and the highest calorie day is Tuesday with 283 calories. However there is a fast day on Wednesday. This diet is very very low calorie with an average of 100 calories a day. I have never eaten this little for more than a week, nor do I recommend following this for more than a week at a time.

2-4-6-8 Diet

The 2-4-6-8 diet is pretty self explanatory and a favorite of mine. You eat 200 calories on the first day, 400 calories on the second day, 600 calories on the third day and 800 calories on the forth day. This diet is supposed to work because it keeps your body guessing on the amount of calories. I have seen this diet just played on a loop, going from 2-4-6-8 to 8-6-4-2 and some even add a fast day at the end. This has an average of 500 calories a day and I don't see any problem with continuing this diet for as long as you want.

ABC Diet

This diet has nothing to do with the alphabet. ABC stands for Ana Boot Camp and is seen as a 30 day or so crash pro-ana diet. I really like this diet and I have done this myself. The highest day is one day where you eat 800 calories and the lowest, non-fast day is 50 calories. The last part is a slowly return to a normal diet. I recommend that for at minimum of a weak before you start again.

The One Week Diet

Monday: Eat all the vegetables you want, and a portion of fruit.
Tuesday: Just eat all the vegetable you want.
Wednesday: Eat all the fruit and veggies you want.
Thursday: Eat 5 bananas and drink 5 glasses of milk.
Friday: 4-3oz of chicken or substitute with veggies.
Saturday: 4-3oz of beef or substitute with veggies.
Sunday: Fast
Not sure how I feel about this diet. I'm a vegetarian so if I ever did do it, I would need to do a substitute. To me, this diet would have drastically different results depending on the person. To someone, all the fruits and veggies they want could be 2500 calories worth of fruit and veggies. It really depends, but I can see how you can shift a pound or two with this.

The Marya Hornbacker Diet

Breakfast: One grapefruit
Lunch: 2 fat free pretzels, 4 carrot sticks, 4 celery sticks and 1 tablespoon of mustard
Dinner: 1/2 cup of sugar free/fat free yogurt
Total: 202 calories
I have personally never tried this diet, but it is very low on calories and has 0 grams of fat. I would not recommend following this exact diet for longer than two weeks.

The Milk Diet

Day 1: 6 cups of milk
Day 2: 4 cups of milk and any 2 portions of fruit
Day 3: 2 cups of milk and any 2 portions of fruit and unlimited cheese
Day 4: 4 cups of milk and any 1 portion of fruit and 1 portion of meat
Day 5: 2 cups of milk and any 2 portions of fruit and any 1 portion of meat plus an egg
Day 6: 2 cups of milk and any 1 portion of fruit, 1 portion of meat, 1 egg and unlimited cheese
Day 7: 3 cups of milk and 2 portions of fruit
Day 8: 2 cups of milk and 1 portion of fruit, 1 portion of meat and unlimited cheese
This diet WILL NOT WORK unless you use fat free or reduced fat milk. Drinking full fat milk will sky rocket day 1 to 900 calories, plus, that's a lot of fat. This diet doesn't seem very practical. Go ahead and try it, I don't see anything bad about it. My only problem is that if you want to see results and you're going to do a crazy diet, might as well do something that is more likely to show results.

The Super Reduction Oatmeal Diet

Breakfast: one packet of instant oatmeal of any flavor
Lunch: one apple
Dinner: tea with 0 calorie sweetener or plain
Total: 210-250 calories
This diet is very low in calories. I followed it for a week and lost about three pounds, but I didn't feel too well and I was very dam well sick of oatmeal by the end of it. I would recommend it as a short diet, but nothing to exceed a week.

My Current Diet*

Breakfast: 3 egg whites and Thomas' Light English Muffin
Lunch: 5oz of baby carrots
Dinner: Morning Star veggie burger and Thomas' Light English Muffin
Total: 392 calories
I have this the majority of my days. I'm a vegetarian, but looking at this you might not see that. This diet has almost no fruits and veg and is low in almost every nutrient possible.

REMINDER: HAVING AN EATING DISORDER IS BY NO MEANS HEALTHY, BUT I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU GOING ON ANY OF THESE DIETS UNLESS YOU KNOW VERY WELL THAT THEY AREN'T GOOD FOR YOU! KNOW YOU'RE RISKS BEFORE YOU START!
